Zensho to Use Robots at Outlets

A robot explains its customer service system, which is being developed by Zensho Holdings Co. and Osaka University Prof. Hiroshi Ishiguro, in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on Thursday.
Major restaurant operator Zensho Holdings Co. said Thursday it will develop a customer service system featuring robots in cooperation with Osaka University Prof. Hiroshi Ishiguro.
The company intends to boost customer numbers by enabling people to communicate with robots, company officials said. The company hopes to introduce the system by 2020.
Zensho conducted a feasibility test using robots at an outlet of its family restaurant chain Coco’s from March through early April. … (more)
