We visited a local nursery this afternoon, ducking in from freezing rain, into a warm greenhouse. On a stereo, somewhere in the distance, Harry Chapin’s 1974 pop folk song “Cat’s in the Cradle” was playing, making for a pleasantly surreal experience. We were also greeted by a real cat, and an unreal dog. We also met a fellow visitor’s dog (not pictured here) an enthusiastic 1-year-old fox terrier named ‘Ruby’. More about the nursery here.
