[VIDEO] New Civic Type R: Production Model Lines Up for a Reveal at Geneva
This is the first time any Type-R Honda has officially gone on sale in North America.
The new Honda Civic Type-R will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the manufacturer has officially announced.
The next hot Civic will be front and centre of Honda’s presence at the show, and the company has confirmed that the new model – based on the recently released tenth generation Civic – will use a turbocharged 2.0-litre VTEC engine like its predecessor.
Production will begin at Honda’s UK plant in Swindon this summer and the car will be exported around the world, including to the United States – the first time any Type-R Honda has officially gone on sale in North America.
Honda stole the limelight at the Paris Motor Show last year with a prototype version of the new Civic Type R – a close-to-production preview of what the next generation of Honda’s Civic hot hatch will look like when it goes on sale in a few months. … (read more)
